HR leaders must support employees during workplace crises but may be unsure of how best to help. This session will provide 10 foundational Crisis Management concepts to help guide you. Topics will include employee needs during crises, basic guidelines regarding trauma and its impact, communication strategies, and what to focus on during the first 24-48 hours. Participants will have an opportunity to share lessons learned from past workplace crises and to start preparing for future ones.

Holly earned a BA from Juniata College and an MS in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and has received specialized training from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.  Her career includes over 27 years of supervisory and management experience in for-profit, non-profit, educational, and healthcare organizations.  In her previous role as an EAP Coordinator, Holly responded to over 100 workplace Critical Incidents, and coordinated annual school crisis conferences.  Prior to her work in organizational and leadership development, Holly spent a decade counseling trauma survivors and their loved ones. 

In her current role as owner and primary consultant of Workplace Leadership Solutions, Holly specializes in helping HR and other organizational leaders navigate Critical Incidents, significant organizational changes, and other sensitive employee issues.  She also provides training and consultation on challenging personnel issues including workplace harassment or violence, drug and alcohol use in the workplace, employee accountability, burnout and compassion fatigue, and supervisory skills.
